Feldspar is an aluminosilicate mineral which represent more than 50% of the entire exposed rocks in the Earth’s crust. The industrial types usually appear with Sodium, Potassium or/and Lime. A less common but lately very explored is the Lithium Feldspar where its almost 2% of LiO2 brings fusibility and high whiteness for Ceramic glazes and bodies.
This mineral can be a source of spodumene if further correctly processed. Once demagnetized the Glass industry can take advantage of this versatile mineral.
